Fall is in the air! Isn’t it lovely? I really do love fall. It comes with pumpkin scones at Starbucks, boots and skinny jeans, chunky sweaters, flannels, warm drinks, and pretty trees changing their leaves from green to yellow-orange-red. If I could, I would probably keep this season for most of the year and then switch back into summer for a bit to enjoy the lakes (I live in Minnesota).
With the cooler temps outside, I’m excitedly getting into trying a few new warm alcoholic beverages. I love me some Chai and RumChata, but am always on the hunt for something else fun and festive. This Spiked Caramel Apple Cider won’t disappoint.
As with most of my adult beverages, I try to keep things simple. This drink has only 2 ingredients. Apple cider and caramel vodka. Simple, delicious and festive. Done.
Not wanting to directly microwave the vodka, I took my mug and microwaved my apple cider to slightly warmer then what I would normally drink. Then I added the room-temperature shot of caramel vodka and voila! Spiked Caramel Apple Cider.
Spiked Caramel Apple Cider
1. Pour apple cider into a coffee mug and fill 3/4 full. Microwave your cider on high for 1-1.5 minutes until slightly hotter then what you’d normally drink it at.
2. Add 1 shot caramel vodka and stir. ENJOY!
Notes: This would be a great drink to throw in your crockpot to keep warm and be ready whenever you are. This would be great for:
with apps or desert with friends
after spending time outside (hunting, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, sledding, snowboarding, downhill skiing, hiking, building snowmen, etc…)
New Year’s Eve Party
Let me know if you try this and what you think! Do you have any other favorite warm-drinks that you like during the fall and/or winter? Tell me about them!
