Today has been a series of little victories for me. I got some laundry done, I made and photoed this yummy latte, I took a 15 minute catnap. Little things, but it’s funny how much the little things matter. They can really make or break your day. Today, I’m motivated to keep hacking away at my long list of “to-do’s.” I’m taking the time to do some of the little things which in turn make me feel good about my small accomplishments. I’ve got a bigger project I’m planning on starting in a couple days and know that I need to get my small items off my to-do list first.
This Matcha Green Tea Latte is delicious. It’s the perfect “I need a mid-day break” beverage to keep you going. I made mine hot. I’m all about the yummy warm drinks with these cooler fall temps. This drink could easily be served cold over ice, depending on your preference.
Green Tea flavored things have been popping up all over the Pinterest world for the last year or so. Influenced by the Japanese, these lattes and flavored treats are fun and delicious. I had the fortunate experience of living in Okinawa, Japan for 2.5 years several years ago. While there (we moved there 6.5 years ago), I ran across several matcha green tea treats that I fell in love with.
To make this beverage, you are going to need Matcha Green Tea powder. If you can’t find it at your local grocery store, you can order it from the amazing Amazon. Here is a link for a super popular type: Matcha Green Tea Powder.
Matcha Green Tea Latte
1 tsp. matcha powder
1 T. (+ based on your preferences) sugar
1/2 cup water
3/4 cups vanilla almond milk
Combine all ingredients in a microwave-safe mug. Stir well. Microwave on high for approximately 1-1.5 minutes, depending on the strength of your microwave and your preference on temp. ENJOY!
Do you have any favorite recipes that use matcha green tea powder? I’d love to hear about them! (PSST… I have a matcha green tea ice cream recipe I am planning on posting next week. Keep your eyes peeled and I will post a link to it on this page once it’s up!)
