Key Lime Colada Martini

Key Lime Colada Martini

We started the day with rain and ended with a nice 71 degrees outside.  As it’s now October, that is a NICE way to end the day here in Minnesota.  My whole family (including the dog) went for a walk after grilling some steaks tonight.  When we got back from our mini adventure, I decided I needed (wanted) a desert cocktail.  I had purchased a shooter of the Blue Chair Bay- Key Lime Rum Cream out of curiosity the last time I was at the liquor store.  It was calling my name tonight and said… make me into something AMAZING!  So I did!

I am usually a red wine (cabernet) and beer type of gal.  I also love plain margaritas on the rocks.  The super sweet cocktails that I used to drink frequently in my early twenties just seem to be too sweet for me most days now.

Enter in the Key Lime Colada Martini.  This is a sweet drink, don’t get me wrong.  I just was really in the mood for it so it works.  If you hadn’t figured out by the name, this beverage is like a cross between a Pina Colada and key lime pie.  You are welcome.

Anyone have any other good recipes for the Blue Chair Bay- Key Lime Rum Cream?  I’d love to hear about other ways to mix it!
