Are you a sweet tooth or a salt-craver in terms of snacks? I am a salt-girl all the way. Give me a bag of chips or popcorn and I hardly have any self-control. I will just keep crunching away until I’m full and make myself stop or the snack item is completely gone. (Seriously, chips and guac, yum! Check out my guacamole recipe here.) Knowing this about me, I tend to not keep chips in our house very often.
As I love salty snack, I like Chex Mix. However, I am not a big fan of the “traditional” Chex mix that includes several flavor varieties of Chex cereal and nuts. I find myself picking out the Rice Chex and pretzels; they are my favorite. So, I have started making it with only those two main ingredients, smart right?
Chex and Pretzles Mix
6 Tbls. butter, melted
4 tsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. seasoned salt
5 cups Rice Chex
3 cups pretzels
Melt butter in a large pan. Add worcestershire and salt to pan once butter is melted. Mix well. Add Chex and pretzels. Remove from heat. Stir Chex and pretzels until evenly covered with the butter mixture.
Spread onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 250 for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Allow to cool, place in an air-tight container or ziplock bag.
