A couple weeks ago, I made this sensory bin for my littles. I found all the items at our local Dollar Tree. I think the total cost for me was $8 or $9. I bought 4 or 5 bags of the crinkled brown paper, at $1 each. Each of the other bagged items and the flowers were each $1, resulting in the $8 or $9 final price. (I honestly can’t remember how many bags of that crinkle paper I bought, one of those details that is the least of my worries at the moment).
My bigger kid has had a good time playing with the bugs and the different texture of the crinkle paper. My daughter has sensory issues and doesn’t play too much with it yet. It’s one of those things we are working on and getting her more and more accustomed to new textures. (Stay tuned for more texture related sensory posts in the near future!) This is a cheap and easy way to do it as I already had the plastic bin that it is in.
A great summer indoor activity to switch things up and keep them away from the screens a little longer!
