Tropical Sugar Scrub

Valentine’s is just 6 days away.  This is another quick, easy, and cheap DIY project that can be given to a significant other, friend, parent, teacher, or co-worker.  Or, just make it for yourself!  Treat yourself! (any Parks and Rec fans catch that reference?)  The raw sugar gives the scrub a coarse texture, great for scrubbing away that dry, winter skin and the oil leaves your skin silky smooth.

Tropical Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup raw sugar
1 drop red food coloring (optional, gives it the slight pink coloring)
Several drops of the following oils: Grapefruit & Lemon (or orange)

Directions:
In a small bowl, mix all of the above ingredients.  Add oils, starting with 10 drops Grapefruit and 5 Lemon (or orange).  Add additional drops (1-2 at a time) until desired smell is reached.  Stir well.  Store in mason jar or airtight container.

Notes: the coconut oil will give the scrub a “strong” smell of coconut.  If you do not have essential oils at your house, check your grocery store.  I found the Grapefruit oil and Lemon oil in the natural food section.  You can also find them on Amazon.
